Ali has been working as a workshop leader since 1995 and specialises in voice work. Her approach is to use world music and a variety of styles (folk, jazz, gospel etc) to explore harmony and improvisation and allow people to find their natural voices in a supportive environment.

The power of the voice to heal and promote self-developent is a theme in all of her workshops and training. She often works with other artists from different art forms to facilitate creative group work, in many educational and non-educational settings including:

Teaching, Training & Lectures
Ali is also an experienced trainer and teacher and have recently worked with carers in residential homes for older people, and managers of residential homes for people
with learning difficulties.
She has also trained artists and students in workshop techniques and given lectures on the benefits of healthy voice work for self and community.
As an actress and director she has taught voice projection and performance techniques. Ali also spent several years whilst lecturing at South Downs College in Hampshire, teaching students 'voice and speech' from the LAMDA syllabus.

- Training staff working with elders in residential homes in creativity. This was a research project commissioned by NIACE with Art Exchange in Leeds
- Training 2nd year degree students at Bishops Grotesste College, Lincoln in music and workshop skills

- Training workers in Early Years in music and diversity skills
- Training community group leaders in Arts Administration
